National Theatre Claudio Santoro, Brasilia

The National Theatre Claudio Santoro is a concert hall located near the old bus station in the city of Brasilia. The theatrical complex includes three halls: Villa Lobos (1037 seats, recently refurbished), Martins Pena (399) and Alberto Nepomuceno (96).In this three halls most of the classical concerts, dances and theatre performances of the city take place. Designed by Oscar Niemeyer and Athos Bulcao, has a pyramidal shape and 46 meters high. The façade was decorated by artist Athos Bulcão, who used a composition of cubes and rectangles. The Acoustics were planned by Aldo Caloet. The National Theatre opens Mondays through Fridays, from 9.30 a.m. to 12 noon and from 2.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.
