Juan Bautista Sacchetti or Giovanni Battista Sacchetti (1690 – 1764)
Juan Bautista Sacchetti or Sachetti, born as Giovanni Battista Sacchetti 1690 in Turinwas an Italian architect, mostly known for buildingthe Royal Palace in Madrid. He died in Rome in 1764. He arrived in Spain in 1736 to work at the Palacio de La Granja de San Ildefonso, but shortly after that he was called by King Philip V of Spain to continue with the works of the Royal Palace after the death of Juvara. For this reason, he was appointed great master for all royal works.. He also served as director of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando and great master of the works on the City of Madrid, until his death in 1742.
