Elements of Photography

Eastern Michigan University, University Gallery presents Elements of Photography, September 3 – October 2, 2009.  There will be a special reception in the gallery on Wednesday, September 9 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.  The event is free and open to the public.

Elements of Photography features the work of nationally and internationally acclaimed photographers Angie Buckley, Angela Faris-Belt, Mark Klett, Thomas Kellner, Alida Fish, Cynthia Greig, Carol Golemboski, Mark Eshbaugh, Alexandre Orion, and Byron Wolfe.  

This exhibition is based on the book, The Elements of Photography: Understanding and Creating Sophisticated Images, authored by Angela Faris-Belt and published by Focal Press in 2008.  The exhibition and the book explore technical, creative, and conceptual approaches to contemporary photography.

The University Gallery is barrier-free and located on the second level of the Student Center on the campus of Eastern Michigan University.  The Student Center is located at 900 Oakwood Street, between Washtenaw Avenue and Huron River Drive.  The gallery is open Monday and Thursday, 10 am to 5 pm; Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 am to 7 pm; Friday and Saturday 10 am to 2 pm.  For additional information, call 734.487.0465.
