My photographers:network project is taking place in Siegen again this year. I would be delighted if you could include the exhibition in your calendars and reporting.
At the beginning of 2011, Thomas Kellner once again invited his colleagues from around the world, whom he had met over the last few years, to take part in this project. They are all mostly young photographers whom he has met at festivals, art fairs and in his galleries. Some of them have been friends for years. This year, 58 photographers with more than one hundred and fifty works applied to take part. The aim of the project is to build a network among colleagues and to promote each other. An expert jury consisting of two journalists (Thomas Gerwers, PROFIFOTO and Manfred Zollner, fotomagazin), a gallery owner (Helga Oberkalkofen from the Art Galerie Siegen) and a curator (Christoph Tannert, Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin) jointly selected the works to be exhibited, and the winner of the portfolio prize is Monika Merva, whose work can be seen in fotomagazin in July/August. The exhibition of the 18 selected works will take place from June 25 to July 3 in Thomas Kellner's studio and was significantly supported this year by the Art Galerie, RWE und Kultur Siegen, the SVB as well as the Kunstsommer of the Kunstverein Siegen.
As every year, a presentation and artist talk is planned for Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in the lecture room of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Siegen.
