Hospital de San Juan de Dios Granada

The Hospital de San Juan de Dios was built in the 16th century in the Renaissance style. It is ful of trees, frescos and ceramic tiles. The rest of the building is for the use of Staff and patients. Juan Ciudad Duarte, later canonized as San Juan de Dios, established this hospital in 1536 started looking after the sick of the patients. In time he founded a charitable order that commissioned this hospital after he died in the Casa de los Pisa in 1550. Today it is still a hospital but the old parts of the building are open for the public.
