Aarhus, Isbjerget

Isbjerget („the Iceberg“) is a residential building complex in the former industrial port of Aarhus, Denmark. It was constructed from 2010 to 2013; the units of the complex are modeled after floating icebergs and planned to give all residents an ideal view of the sea. Planning Isbjerget involved the Danish architectural firms CEBRA and JDS Architects, the French architect Louis Paillard and the Dutch firm seARCH.  Isbjerget has been given awards for Best Residential Development at the French architects conference MIPIM in 2013 and Best Housing by the website ArchDaily.com in 2015.
