Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz

Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz: * 21. June. in Leipzig; † 14. November 1716 in Hannover.

Theodizee (Originaltitel: Essais de Théodicée). Amsterdam 1710

Leibniz was a German philosopher, mathematician and diplomat. He is also considered a mastermind of the Enlightenment. In his works he deals mainly with the theory of monads, the concept of determination and epistemological and logical views. His statement that our world was the "best of all possible worlds" was often misunderstood. Leibniz does not refer to the current condition of the world, but to its potential for development.
