First Open Studio in the Art Summer 1999.
On 2.5.1999 at 3 p.m. Jochen Dietrich, Xenia Frisan, Thomas Kellner and Martin Steiner open their newly opened studio at Friedrichstraße No. 42. All four have studied art at the University of Siegen, among other places, and have now joined forces to form a studio community. On two floors the photographers Dietrich and Kellner and the sculptors Frisan and Steiner show new works.
Martin Steiner shows sculptural works made of steel sheets, which stand in the room, but also drawings and paintings, which were created in the environment of the sculptures. Xenia Frisan presents installations with sand in addition to drawings.
Jochen Dietrich, whose exhibition of Cine Teatros was recently on display at Haus Seel municipal gallery, will exhibit various series from his Portugal projects. Thomas Kellner, who last year showed his pinhole camera works from the German border in Kreuztal and Siegen, is represented in this joint exhibition with tableau works of southern French landscapes.
