Portfolio Gorges du Regalon

Thomas Kellner invents in Gorges du Regalon the bobbing, dancing rhythm of the camera

The white of the sky and the black, bounding walls of the gorge are the central motif of this series. From 1993 to 1997, Thomas Kellner experimented with the 11 pinhole camera, which allowed him to take multiple photographs on a large-format negative. After Dying Nature from 1993, Thomas Kellner invents in Gorges du Regalon the bobbing, dancing rhythm of the camera, with which he dissolves the subject of the picture. Five images show the manifesto of this style-defining phase in a hand-bound box made by the artist himself.
